She sailed a round-the-world service from Southampton of approximately 75 days via the Panama Canal, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa, with occasional calls at Port Everglades. When built she was revolutionary as the first major liner with engines and funnel aft and the almost complete absence of cargo space. Served the tourist, low-fare and migrant market. Laid up in 1971, then converted to cruise ship Calypso, later Azure Seas and OceanBreeze.
